Iwata specifically refers to QoL, merchandising/business, and this "New Platform" as the three pillars of their future strategy, so I take it that QoL and this mystery platform that he's discussing are probably seperate entities. Shareholders have a right to know what Nintendo's business philosphy is for the future especially when they are currently losing money. I think people still think in the "handheld/console" terms are all wrong anyway. There isn't going to be another console in a traditional sense. There will be one Nintendo eShop that you can buy games on, and you can play that game on your choice of hardware variants that are all under one brand umbrella. But that is just my take on it, we'll see in the future who was right and who was wrong.
