Could Nintendo's NFP create a new way for fans to send them a message?

You say that now, but you don't know what they're doing with it. Assume it was just 4 bucks a figurine, and added a bit of gameplay to Smash, or some other game. Why wouldn't you buy it, if it were also contributing to a campaign like this? It's not about being a diehard fan of the NFC game or any gameplay features the figurines might add, it's about being a diehard fan of a particular Nintendo IP and wanting to send a message to Nintendo that you want to see more of it!

Please tell me you're not seriously hoping it'll be just $4 per figure? will be like every other figure based system, will start off $15 a figure, the popular stuff will stay that or go higher and the characters nobody likes will be all over the place and drop in price to try and sell.

Expect luigi to be $8 all over the place and nobody wanting it, Samus barely anywhere and going for above retail when you do find it.

that's just how figure based shit goes.
