Makes sense, I also sensed Dragon Age 2 was to preachy for my taste, a friend of mine called it a "Gay Manifesto", the first games was much cooler thought, I loved the freedom and exploring all the places. |
As I continue playing I also just notice another imitation of life the game does. The Pursuit of money. With every quest you can usually try and swindle more coin out of the deal, but usually ends with someone being pissed at you. All of Act 1 you are trying to get enough gold to do the expedition. You could take the easy way out and take that shady loan, or struggle to get it by helping everyone you see. You will end up with just enough to get by unless you are willing to step on a few toes to get it. Actions like these make you richer and richer as the game goes on.... but alienates you from certain quests and characters.
Its always harder to do the right thing, few games correctly grasp that concept. Infamous series does I think(Evil powers are so much better to take down enemies but if you are a real hero you have to be wary of civilians at all times). By not going the greedy routes you are scarce on coin but always rich in allies.
Greatness Awaits
