They sold a total of 6.17M by the previous quarter, they predict to sell a total of 3.6M for the entire fiscal year ending march 31 2015.

How does vgchartz feel about this estimate? Is it plausible? For the last FY they estimated to sel 9M WiiU's, a ridicilous forecast which was revised each passing quarter down to 2.8M and Nintendo still didnt make their prediction, they ended up with 2.72M

Nintendo expects to sell 900k more this year. Can they achieve it? With SSMB and MK8, they sure hope so. But what strikes me, is that with all the blockbuster titles like that, their prediction is only 3.6M, they're basically saying that they do not expect those games to make a big impact, while pretty much most of these board's Nintendo community thinks MK8 will be the 2nd coming of Wii U.

Personally, I dont think MK8/SSB will change anything, sure sales will go up, but not in the amount it will turn fortunes around. These games will sell millions no doubt, but their impact as a system seller will be rather limited I reckon. I think NIntendo is anticipating this and preparing for it seeing pre-order numbers, and having historical data of other big Wii franchises that failed to uplift console sales like Wii U Party, Wii Fit U, NSMBU and Mario 3D World, there is a trend there, a trend 1 or 2 games can't stop on their own.

Only 9.7-10 Million by March 31 2015..., that is a really low figure, the console will be out for 2 years and 4 months(or 27 months) by that time, and 1/3 of those sales came at launch so it ends up with 6 million for the remainder of its lifetime.

It's really frustrating how this really turned out, and Nintendo is being silent, they arent rectifying some things, they claim they will branch outside videogames with QoL, but how does that change WiiU's fate? What are their plans for Wii U? Only expecting to sell 3.6m for the entire year says they aren't gonna change anything, they will ride it out. I Wish Nintendo was fighting to save Wii U no matter what but it seems like they gave up, they hold on to the same release schedule, no extra 3rd parties are drawn in, they dont make the console region free, improve their online infrastructure.

To me it feels like Nintendo abandoned the arena because the fight became too intense. I mean why are people even excited about QoL? It will have nothing to do with traditional gaming, unless you love fitness and educational stuff in your games.

I just woke up and had to express my feelings sorry chartz.
