Nintendo has not made "a" mistike- they have made many big mistakes re the Wii U and sevveral of them were mistakes they have made previously and promised not to make again-
If you want to be positive about the most recent financial updare then just pretend they said:
the Wii U had record sales and is on track to pass the wii in hardware sales
that Wii U software is on tract to have the highest attach rate in the industry
that 3DS sales are on a huge upswing w momentum sales growth sure to carry through fiscal year 2016
Iwata s approval rate is at an all time high at 99.9%
now that would be positive and much more realistic/beleivable than what you declared to be "actually" what their financials meant
