It's honestly really funny to those who have some sadistic malice towards Nintendo (which encompasses the majority of his site, as I have so far experienced and witnessed).

 

Otheriwse, it's just another repetitive joke you shouldn't pay too much attention to and move along.

In other cases maybe, but VG Cats author is clearly a fan of most Ninty franchises (and of all the most important games on the other platforms too). This doesn't prevent him from joking on them or even trolling them, but he knows too much about them for not playing them a lot.
