If Nintendo bought Sega, could they make Sonic a big thing again?

plus, sega sammy is big. There is no way Nintendo would buy them if they could even afford to do so. It would flush out all their excess money. I don't think Nintendo even has that kind of money. They have a lot, but not sega sammy amounts...
