Who needs a fancy camera for voice control when you have a freakin' awesome controller fof that!

You could connect the mic to the DS4 and voice control it since Day 1 lol. But you are saying you can with just the controller?

Yes, mic in the DS4, no headset or anything connected to it. Most interest I have in it is whether you can do voice chat without having to have a headset or the camera connected. That's really the only use I have for a mic.
