^^^ Well, I've noticed it takes me much longer to go through the news, with pictures I just skim over most of them until I find something that really interests me, this way I actually have to stop for every headline. If that was your intention, I'd say it works. ;)

Mainly just trying to slim down the posts. The images take up a tonne of space, and some people feel that the massive posts make the thread hard to read.

Hearthstone's single player adventure Curse of Naxxramas coming "this summer"

In Hearthstone, we’ve become used to conducting our card games down the pub - surrounded by light, laughter, and human(oid) warmth, or at least the ambient, audible suggestion of it.

The announcement of single player adventure Curse of Naxxramas promised to change all that - to sling us into a dank dungeon, where alone we might face down fungal horrors and oversized arachnids across the board.

At least now we know it’ll be summer outside.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is pretty enough to make you forget Victorian child mortality rates

Poor old Sherlock. Every time he kicks open the door to 221b he finds himself rebooted, such that he can’t even be sure of his own sirname - let alone the century of his birth or the gender of his sidekick.

Only in the hands of adventure game tailors Frogwares can he be sure of some stability, They’ve been making their Sherlock Holmes games for a decade and seemed finally to hit a reliably compelling groove with 2009’s The Testament Of.

This one couples the series’ well-tested scene investigation mechanics to some Dostoyevsky-inspired moral choice-making. Given the post-Telltale zeitgeist we find ourselves in, there’s absolutely no reason why the sociopathic detective can’t find in Crimes and Punishments his strongest footing in the medium yet.

And that’s even before we dissect the pretty screenshots we’ve just found on our mat.

Towns developer: “the game is more or less finished as it is now”

Tuesday saw Towns' developers call a halt to development. The game wasn’t making them enough money to fund further work so they decided to cut their losses and move onto other projects. It’s a move that the game’s fans have been far from happy with.

But when I contacted Florian Frankenberger, the game’s lead developer, he told me that what players own is “more or less finished as it is now”. Further development would enhance what’s there but he doesn’t think “the game still feels like an alpha or beta version.”

Cloud combat: OnLive streaming tech brings War Thunder to low-spec and portable PCs

OnLive are the cloud gaming enablers who, despite protests they weren’t dead, definitely turned a decidedly iffy colour after they sold off all their assets a couple of years back.

But they returned is surprisingly rosy form earlier this year, preaching the merits of CloudLift - the nifty bit of tech which allows subscribers to pick up where they left off in PC games on various portable devices.

The only issue back then was developer backing - though Warner Brothers were on board, only 22 games were lined up for the system’s launch. But they're working on it: Gaijin have now signed up their airborne multiplayer shooter War Thunder to the service.

EA and Respawn planning "new Titanfall experiences," because you can't keep a good titan down

EA and Respawn Entertainment aren’t done with the Titanfall IP, EA exec Andrew Wilson announced at the company’s recent financial briefing. Their partnership will continue, and this means more Titanfall stuff.

What form this will take isn’t clear. Wilson said new Titanfall experiences are on the way, but didn’t clarify for what platforms or whether this will take the form of new DLC, expansions or a sequel.

Get your wallet out: BlizzCon 2014 tickets go on sale at 4AM CEST

Thinking of going to BlizzCon this year? It might seem like a long way off, starting on November 7th and finishing the next day, but the first batch of tickets are going on sale tomorrow, at 4AM CEST.

Tickets aren’t cheap, though. The convention pass will set you back $199, plus taxes and fees. That’s a lot for a 2 day event, especially when you can get a four day pass to PAX Prime for $110. But if BlizzCon 2014 is anything like last year, then it may very well be worth it.

Don't Starve Together announced: it's easier to not starve when you can eat a chum

Don’t Starve was such a lonely experience for me that I forced a pigman to become my friend. We fought together, hunted together and huddle around the fire together when the shadows got close. Then I killed him, cooked him and ate him.

But that loneliness isn’t going to last forever. Klei has revealed that it’s creating a proper multiplayer expansion for up to four players (and maybe more). It’s called Don’t Starve Together, obviously.
