Gamepad is a fantastic idea and gaming controller.

Any controller can feel annoying if you only try it out in store.

Having the map by your hands certainly is different, but for Wind Waker HD and Need For Speed, I actually found having the map offscreen/on the GamePad was really nice. Less clutter and fewer interruptions during gameplay

It does have a micro USB charging port...
