Nice try Nintendo, but just because I usually use the lightest characters does not mean I'll be using any babies! Meh, fine, they'll probably grow on me. :L
Also the issue isn't that a majority of people will use the same character/vehichle combo. That's pretty much inevitable. The issue is when you stand little chance of beating that character/vehichle combo, a.k.a. Funky Bike Wii. In Mario Kart 7, while the majority used Metal Mario + Monster tires, you could still stand a pretty fair chance against them using whatever you want assuming you're as good as those players. I say this from personal experience! As of right now, I don't see anything unfair or unbalanced with Mario Kart 8. Of course that could change in time, but at the moment things are looking good!
