I thought it was great. Ppl who are complaining are complaining because they wanted it to be a cheesy love story that would end with a kiss and a ''and they would live happy forever''.
The story explained why this story was even being told in the first place and the fact that the mother died added weight to the story being told by Ted. It was also clear what this story was about, it was about Ted and Robin during the entire series so both of them ending together was the perfect ending.
The moral of the story is that no story is all white or black. You never know what will happen and you will no matter what you do have to eventually face obstacles. Happyness will never be served to you on a silver platter, it is up to you to find and creat your own happyness, and this is exactly what happened for all characters.
