How i Met Your Mothers ending was utter S**t (spoilers obviously)

Which makes perfect sense being that he met the mother because robin was getting married...

Because its a sitcom. Why talk about Marshall becoming a lawyer then judge and having 3 kids? Or Lily going to SF and Barney going to get her? Or being left at the alter by that one woman?

Because all those stories involved his and robins relationship.  The ending gives all those stories meaning.  Where if it just ended with him meeting the mother at the end the whole series would have just been a silly long story for no real reason.  That is why I thought the ending was perfect as it gives more weight to every episode in the series.  They filmed that ending durring season 2, they always knew how they wanted the show to end.  Looking back at the stories that were told, you can see how it all fits together.
