I did read up on the ending since I was always curious as to who the mother actually was. But yeah the mother dying is just a horrible ending. I always imagined that at some point they'd introduce the mother and they would make a season or two about Ted and their mother getting married until finally ending it with a nice happy ending. But I guess that wasn't meant to be. |
They couldn't do that even if they wanted to. The title wouldn't make sense.
