"lol" your inane, unknowledgable commentary is actually the pointless thing here

You still have not said anything that can prove me wrong......

All the One is to a tv is middleware. You play a game and want to watch tv you hit "channel up" on your controller and it will take you to tv channels (amazing concept right?) then when you want to play a game you hit "input" to play your game..... Why put wear and tear on a console over this? It is pointless

So I guess you only make phone calls on your phone? If the Xbox was made only to play games I could see the point your trying very hard to make. But it does not apply to something that is made for what people are doing with it . He is using the Xbox for what it is intended to do. Why do you have a issue with that?  Computers were not made to be used to stream netfix....but people do it, is that excessive wear and tear? Just asking...curious.

lo.. wear and tear it is.  what's the point of having a console on just to watch tv?  you watch tv everyday?  now.. do you watch netflix everyday?  that is the difference.  one serves a purpose.. the other doesn't.  the issue with the "pass through" is your console has to be on for tv to function.  now you have a console and a tv on just to watch tv.  how is that practical from a power consumption and wear standpoint?  like from an earlier post.. you like the fact that you draw up to 60% more power just to watch tv?

here's the numbers:

Average hours people watch tv a week: 34 hrs (http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv-movies/americans-spend-34-hours-week-watching-tv-nielsen-numbers-article-1.1162285)

Average hours people watch netflix a week: 8 hrs (http://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20120906006400/en/Average-Netflix-User-Watches-5-TV-Shows#.U2OoA6IX0kg)

Average hours people play video games a week: 13.2 hrs (http://www.education.com/facts/quickfacts-video-games/average-amount-playing/)

Avreage minutes "streaming media" a week: 1.3 hrs (http://www.nielsen.com/us/en/newswire/2012/report-how-americans-are-spending-their-media-time-and-money.html)

So cut out the videogame portion and you are likely using your xbox 61% more weekly just to "watch tv".. Even if you watch netflix and play games, you are still having your console on an additional 33.8% more weekly just to "watch tv".  Yea.. the extra 33-61% addition weekly of having your console on to "watch tv" won't cause "wear and tear".  Not to mention up to 60% more power draw everytime you "watch tv".. so basically 2/3 life of your console will be due to "watching tv".   practicality at it's finest...

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..
