I personally wouldn't sell your PS3 ever because once you have a PS4, you'll likely become a PS Plus member so you'll get all the free/discounted goodies for your PS3 and PS4. Got a Vita? That can join in too!
Btw, Persona 5 is coming to PS3 next year!!! PS3 is still breathing well.
