I'm pretty sure you still have to get an official repair to transfer games, unless they recently changed that policy.

And a Nintendo console breaking isn't fictional at all. I've personally never had a Nintendo console fail on me, but shit happens. You can never be too safe.

I guess I just don't live in fear like others. Plus Nintendo has already stated many times they are not done with improving their account system. They now have it on 3DS and have stated it will continue to grow including allowing you to log into other hardware. Its also not like WiiU will be their last home console and they sure won't ask WiiU owners to mail in WiiUs to transfer NNID accounts.

Worst case is you'll have the transfer system similar to DS/3DS or they'll do as stated and have a online type of device control system similar to iOS/Android, etc.

The worst case is exactly what I'm afraid of, I hate the tranfer system on the 3DS. It feels like you're renting the game from Nintendo, and if you lose your console, you have to go through Nintendo to get your games back, even though you paid for them and should have complete control over them.

I buy digital-only on every other console- Vita, PS3, PS4, 360, etc.

Once Nintendo gets their game together, I'll switch to digital for them too.
