Sorry but i don't belive it! If it was true they(third parties) would never make games exclusively for consoles or delayed for PC like it's very common these days.Maybe PC is a more profitable platform for indies but for AAA i seriously doubt. 

It's true. Overall you do make less money on PC, since AAA titles tend to sell less copies on PC vs consoles, but you do make more money on each game sold ^^
