  1. Redesign the Wii U gamepad to be like the Cafe's original concept art: a controller with a small (4.5" is plenty) screen on it rather than a 6" screen tablet. This might reduce the console's price enough for a cut, but probably not. Even dropping the gamepad all together might not because there doesn't appear to be much hardware in it.
  2. Release Zelda U, Bayonetta, and X ASAP without compromising them, then focus on AA games, not AAA ones. Nintendo is basically in this game alone now, and they can't make enough AAA games to cover ANY consumer base on their own. They can make plenty AA ones.
  3. Cut a deal with Sony to borrow Legend of Dragoon: In exchange for advertising the PS4 and the Wii U operating together (the Wii U as a support console) we will have Monolith develop a Legend of Dragoon reboot (a sequel this many years later would be a waste). You'll get it on PS4, too (after an exclusive window) if we are guaranteed recouping our costs. Make a demo and plug the crap out of it at E3, being up front that it will be a timed exclusive. Just use the Monolith Soft logo to hide that it's really first party, not third party.
  4. If none of that works, bow out of the Wii U shortly after Christmas 2015. If the Legend of Dragoon reboot did well on PS4 but not Wii U, either go third party (for consoles, not handhelds) or drop consoles all together and go handheld.
Meanwhile on 3DS: DO NOTHING BUT MAKE GOOD GAMES.

Legend of Dragoon with Wii controls developed by the people who made Majora's Mask and Xenoblade Chronicles. I really think this would work. I also think that after 15 years of not touching it, Sony could be talked into lending it.
