| Ajax said: PS4 still supply constrained? march 20 "The PlayStation 4 will remain supply constrained worldwide until this summer, PlayStation boss Andrew House told The Wall Street Journal today from the Game Developers Conference. PS4 sales are strong in every region the console is available, he said. "We're struggling to keep up with demand," House said, noting highest demand is in the US and Europe. "Conservatively, as we get into the early summer months, we'll be closer to a full supply situation." |
Worldwide is a bit of an overstatement. Anyone can walk off the street and imulse buy a PS4 at any game console retailer here. Our supply constraints ended when we received our mid-Feb shipment and retailers have been getting monthly shipments which meets demand since then. I also don't see how it is possible to be supply constrained if the fabled 1 million per month manufacturing rate is true, PS4 hasn't sold over 1 million worldwide in a month since December. Ain't no way supply is going to be a problem through to summer unless their production rate is below 1 million/month.
