Miriam will probably face some consequenses. Also, Hannibal certainly needed Chillton's case to not go to court, lest they discover how unlikely it for Chilton to have commited at least some of those murders alone (he already has an allibi for Abigail).

I think Jack's character is very braindead for a high-level FBI profiler, let's just say that if his real life counterparts are the same, it's no wonder that serial killers get away with killing for years.

He just fucking pounces on any lead, without putting much thought or research into it, resulting a train wreck.

Possibly because Jack is desperate for leads. He's been on the Ripper case for years and his constant failure reflects poorly on his standing in the FBI.

And with Miriam, it became personal. :/

Too desperate, but I think if the character had an ounce of common sense then it wouldn't make for such a good drama and it would be over within a season.

S2 SPOILERS*************

I wonder how Hannibal is going to dodge the shitstorm that is bound to follow the fight that occurs at the start of the season - if he manages to win it, then I wonder if Jack has pulled off a Miriam/Beth and will allow Hannibal to avoid detection yet again.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.
