Well, that's just like.....your opinion, man. 9 was great (first RPG, period, I ever played. And I loved it). FFX was so good that they made a direct sequel to it, something unprecedented at the time. Obviously it was more than "still ok". I never played 11 so I don't have an opinion on it, but you're an Xbox guy, and looking at how the game was received, FFXI had its undoubtedly worst version, by far, on the 360 so that may contribute to why you hated it. Because it's, otherwise, considered a good game. Especially since it was SEs first foray into the MMO genre. 12 wasn't diabolical. It added all kinds of new mechanics and a new battle system (that didn't suck).
Of the games you mentioned, the only one with a legitimate gripe should be 13. But that, admittedly, could be called a cash grab as it went multiplatform and then had 2 sequels to try and bring in as much money as possible (since SEs money situation ain't looking too good). The fanboy in me wants to say that's the Xbox's fault, and had they only focused one system (the PS3) like they originally planned, the games quality wouldn't have been compromised. That's all speculation, but the first time an FF went multi, it was a late port to the Xbox and was received poorly (XI) and the second time it went multi, while not poorly received, critically, there were lots of complaints and the two sequels got worse and worse. Then FFXIV comes around and is console exclusive and bam.....quality returned. Every exclusive FF consistently had quality, even the spin offs.
