Ditching Kinect NOW would be a bad move because they undoubtedly contracted for at least a year's worth of production because otherwise the fixed costs of production for a unique product are ridiculously high to spread over a tiny production run, so even if they already decided to ditch it in order to reach a lower price point, they may as well include all the Kinects they have already contracted their suppliers to produce, the most they could save might be freight costs.
