No Standard Nintendo Direct in April. A good sign for E3 2014 !

Hold your horses for a second. Nintendo is yet to announce their full FY results (Happening on May 7th) and that will bring us a new round of Q/A with investors as well as announcements of games/actions, etc including what E3 will bring.

Things may get nasty for Iwata as the CEO voting for reappointing/dismissal takes place on June, to determine if he will remain CEO or not, and results are gonna be very bad compared to the forecasts and on their own as well.

Have they ever announced games at these things before? Seems like an awkward place to do it, especially with E3 right around the corner. I think at most they'll anounce a MK8 bundle and another $50 price drop. That'd put a snag on my MK8 Direct idea though.
