RolStoppable said: Got another one: http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6246413 If you pick someone out for an ad hominem attack, you might as well moderate the quoted post when it is dripping with terms like "grown up", "serious gamer" and ignorance (you can only lose without the aforementioned third party games; hello there, Wii) that is so mindboggling that all put together might as well be deliberate trolling. Or you moderate neither. That's the sort of stuff I criticized in my "Legalise the usage of the word 'troll'" thread, that moderators are taking action without taking context into account. I don't see how superchunk's question was crossing the line while etking's post was not. It's either both or neither. Also, because I was reminded of it: Anfebious got banned for Wii U trolling. That's where the "moderator is not familiar enough with the community" thing plays a role. The new moderators brought a breath of fresh air and some changes in how rules are applied (by both, old and new mods), but quite a few questionable moderations have piled up this month. Hence why I am repeatedly posting in this thread. |
It was just the classic case of little sister bugging the shit out of her brother until brother decides to react and bam... brother gets hit by dad who never realized what sister was doing. Either on purpose due to favortism or lack of realizing the bigger picture.
However, I fully agree with your post and your thread regarding calling a troll a troll.
