@bold - Where were you during the launch of Star Wars : The Old Republic? Since that game pretty much clung onto the "you can't know it's shit unless you come and swim in it" mentality all the way until it went free to play.
Skyrim just spoiled people with great gameplay and this takes 1 big step forwards into MMO land but 1-2 steps backwards being worse than Oblivion in terms of being an actual RPG.
You know strangly enough a lot of the online hate I see popping up for ESO isn't just by haters of elder scrolls in general, you see a lot of people who love the Single player games dreading the MMO being successful because it could mean the end of Single player Elder Scrolls games in the same way we'll probably never see a Warcraft 4.
On a side note, if you dislike seeing nasty comments about ESO avoid the metacritic user area... it has like 150+ negative reviews of pretty nasty stuff in places.
