Nintendos fault, Sony and MS went to devs and asked what they wanted in a console so now they get support. Nintendo just did what they wanted with nobodies input and made the wrong console, they've done it 4 home systems in a row now and each time they lose more and more third party support.

They will not learn.

Yeah "they never learn "when all their hardware makes them a profit all 4 machines you mentioned ,but all Sony and Microsoft hardware lost billions of dollars in that same time frame ......you must remember hardware sales are not as important as software sells and nintendo with their first party sales are all profit no middle man as with 3rd parties ...a console does not make as much money on 3rd parties...example...mario kart is published ,developed by nintendo all sales is 100 percent for nintendo...whereas grand theft auto series which is property of rockstar the majority of the profits goes to rockstar not Sony or Microsoft ...why do you think each of the  big 3 heavily relies on their first party for sales like halo, gran turismo ,mario kart etc because them first party games brings huge profits why do you think nintendo makes billions  nintendo made billions not just because the wii sold one hundred million but because their first part software ( mario kart wii,34 million, wii fit.20 plus million ,wii sports 80 million ,smash 12 million all of this is all profits no middle man also accessories makes millions ...wii fit board, wii remote, wii wheel ,wii golf clubs etc just saying

You're rambling, Nintendo making profit is no defense of turning away third parties, they make profit by not using loss-leader tactics and their games being simple and cheap to make, if they didnt turn away third parties they could still do that AND make third party money.  You're wrong about third parties not making money for first parties, roughly every 4 or 5 third party games sold is worth one first party title sold, with the benefit that they didn't need develop the third party game so no costs to recoup before profit on that.

They got lucky with Wii, lots of shovelware on that from third parties as it was market leader, but people like to forget the GB, GBC, GBA and DS making them money in the GC days and off setting the low sales/support.

Also, how Nintendo profits been since WiiU release, where the Wii like gamble didnt pay off?  Oh right, and that is with 3DS helping...

Luck is when it happens once or twice ....how is every hardware console released by nintendo turns a profit is "luck" lol.. it's called smart business and what you call rambling is fact ...my point is nintendo never had or has to rely on third party like Sony and Microsoft does and nintendo makes a profit from not having to recoup any loss on any product they produce because they don't take a loss on their software or hardware when it's produced except the wii u ...nothing I said isn't fact ....nintendo hasn't had great third party support  since super nes  ...so how would you call that "luck"when the wii and the GameCube and the nintendo 64 turned a profit ....you stated shovelware what does that have to do with profits I'm stating first party software is where the money is at ...why do you think they profited off the GameCube and nintendo 64 era ....software ....in which nintendo as a company has sold over 4 billion units of software if you don't believe me look it up lol smh also answering your question when has Sony or Microsoft made profits since their existence in the video console business ...Microsoft ...zero. 5 billion loss ...Sony mostly loses two or three billion loss  ...nintendo 20 billion profits I can provide the chart for you to show all gains and losses up until 2010
