I liked the gameplay of both games. Especially the SA-X encounters are the best anything in ANY Metroid game. I've never felt a bigger sense of dread than during the SA-X scenes. As I never did any Sequence Breaking in the earlier 2D Metroid games and always followed the suggested path Fusion didn't feel too different in that regard. Bosses in Fusion were stellar.

Other M was a fun game to play. Yes, the story SUCKED BALLS and the authorization sometimes made no sense (Having Samus run around in the lava area without Varia upgrade for 15 minutes is just incredibly bad writing), but at the core the gameplay was pretty good. Sense move was fun, bosses were fun, level design wasn't too awful. Using missiles and doing the Find Waldo stuff was annoying, but if you had a hacked Wii you could at least map using missiles to the B button (in 3rd person, as it always should have been).

My verdict:

Fusion - 9/10
Other M - 7/10
