Weird. I don't remember Fusion having bad music, a poor story, annoying linearity ( Yes, it was more linear than the  Metroid games before it, but it was nowhere as bad as Other M) and awkward controls! Oh well. Each to his own opinion I guess!

Both have the same linearity level. Both stories are bad, and both have similar ambient music.

lolwut. I haven't played Other M, but you can't be serious when you say Fusion's story is bad. It's pretty interesting, and the ending leaves huge possibilities for the sequel.

Metroid as a whole has a great setting/backstory, and so far, they've used it pretty well (haven't played the Prime trilogy either). I just hope they don't waste it on the next game.

From the Metroids I have played (Super, Prime Trilogy, Fusion and Other M) story is not good or outstanding.

I've played Super, Zero Mission and Fusion. All three have good plots. Simple (some extremely so), but good. Of course no one plays Metroid for the story, but it's a nice plus.
