Why is everyone so complacent with Pokemon XY?

I do you mean has the potential? 2nd generation was without a doubt one of the best things the gaming world has ever seen.
No series had yet the impact that pokémon have reached in society, they where everywhere, everyone was talking about it, pokémon was life. It's without a doubt the best franchise in the gaming world. Crystal was a amazing game, amazing, rank 2nd in my fav games of all time.

I can list like 30 games off the top of my head that are better than Pokemon gold/silver/and crystal. Are they important games? Yes. Greatest games of all time? Not even close.
