A new IP sold over 6 million in less than a year on a dying console. Id say thats a sign of a pretty strong franchise. 

And I could be wrong but I think TLoU on PS3 is well on its way to outsell Halo 2 on original Xbox

I highly doubt the PS3 version will be able to hit Halo 2's sales alone (8.49m). It's currently tracking ahead of Uncharted 3, so 7 million total for physical + digital is very doable, but that's quite a bit off 8.5 million. Including the PS4 version it could probably do it.

Still, the PS3 version alone should be able to pass Halo 1 ^^ I'd consider that worthy of high praise.

If it hit 6 million in less than a year at full price, I dont see why it shouldnt drag on to sell another 2 million when price get lower and gets some bundles
