Where did I say Ireland does not belong to Europe? Where were you when Geography was taught in your school? The expressions "Mainland Europe" , "British Isles" (and many others) are well defined common terms in Geography (at least at a time when I went to school/University).

This has to be one of the most horribly pedantic arguments i've ever read here. Please do not make it again. It distracts from the content of the discussion.
