on a pixel per pixel basis it looks amazing. The highest the video can go is also the max resolution of the screen. Make your judgement based off of UMD movies. Watch spiderman 2, or advent children and be amazed.
Why would I base my judgment off of a dead movie format that isn't even part of the discussion?
It is part of the discussion because UMD's are the only way you can see full resolution on your PSP. Any comments about blurriness during fast action scenes are not valid when talking about those.
Because UMD is nowhere near this discussion. UMD is a dead format. I would say over 95% of movies that are viewed on a PSP stream from a memory stick. This scenario does not involve UMD. Therefore blurriness is a completely valid comment.
And personally, I think the fact that SONY locks out the full resolution when not viewing a UMD is a slap in the face to consumers. Why would you ever lock away functionality? Well I guess I have to keep in mind we are talking about SONY, who love locking away functionality unless people spend more money to unlock it. (PS1 games downloadible onto the PSP only through a PS3 anyone?)
