LTD sales I would put my bets on the PS Vita simply because it seems more future-proof and looking at Sony's history of keeping a console alive much longer than Nintendo.
It's the most powerful handheld against the least powerful console of same generation. Wii U is more likely to be discontinued before the PS Vita.
Wii U can pass Vita's total numbers late 2014 or somewhere in 2015 if the first party games are really effective at moving units, though.
