But that is the thing... they can be turned off, like if you happen to spend a bit of time here and go changing from the default settings. Do you really want the site to have straight up porn visible in sigs if people happen to wander into a thread while they're not logged in or for new members to think that the place is just coated in that stuff but it can be made hidden? It says in the OP that the rule is there to make the place more accessable to everyone, forcing the NSFW stuff into the faces of new members or casual browsers with no account is the complete oppisite of this.

Oh of course I dont want porn in the sigs. I am thinking more of the borderline nsfw stuff that people have been using as avatars. I honestly dont understand why people get so upset when they are told they cant have that stuff, but I know when I complained about it last year a lot of people got mad at me. I actually left the site for a few months because of the nsfw avatars. I'm just thinking of a possible compromise for the people that are really upset about this.
However, you are right, the ideal solution is to get rid of it all together. I think there is a problem though in that the mods dont have a clear definition of what is appropriate, just a general statement of it being sexual. Without clear rules, I dont see this being enforced very well. So i was thinking if the mods just said to push all that kind of stuff to the sigs there wouldnt be as much of it in the avatars.
