Hype is when theres so much advertisement and PR pressure that the customer is convinced to make an impulse buy. I dont think thats what Xbox has to fight here. Actually, there is little hype for the PS4 atm, besides the sales numbers. I really havent seen much advertisment at all. Its almost like a ghost launch because there arent any consoles on the stores (sold out).

This, PS4 sells thankts to trust about having a lot of good first party games, japanese games until the end and even after.

X1 doesnt sell also because a lot of gamers was legitimately disappointed by the last  3 years of almost nothing on 360
