MS has lots of cards to play. However they cant afford to let Sony increase their momentum. Before you know it, the PS4 is the next 360. At which point the X1 becomes a failure.

I would remove the kinect, cut the price and give it a new marketing push with key new software like quantum break etc. The X1 has a solid games library they need to sell it.

I think a better comparision is PS4 is the next PS2. Outside of NA PS3 stomped 360 when you factor in the 1 year lead it had, and the rebuys due to RROD in north america. Call it anecdotal but nearly everyone i know that bought an og 360 bought at least one other after the first died.

XB1 will need to get it together, and they have games that could be interesting.

I was speaking specifically about how the US has favoured the 360 last gen.

If PS4 becomes the prefered US console to that level then i dont see the console business being worth it for MS (in the short term).
