You've got a bit of a trudge to go. Book 10 is especially awful, and to be honest you can probably just skip it and read the plot summary because I can think of one thing of any importance that actually happens.

Fortunately, after that is the best four books in the series taking you right through to the end. With Knife of Dreams, Jordan managed to get back on track, and Sanderson is much better at writing than Jordan ever was, and he wrote the final trilogy.

Is that the book where nearly half the book is taken up by a conversation in a basement somewhere?

My girlfriend has warned me it gets a bit dreary at somepoint She actually gave up.

if you can get to the last three books, it gets really good.  Like kantor said, It would probably be easier to just read plot summaries of the books where you are in the series.  pretty much nothing happens in those books...

I have to admit I don't know about this conversation in a basement... but since nothing important happened in those books, I actually don't remember them that well either...

Some things happen, but honestly I had to look it up to refresh my memory.

I don't remember that conversation either.
