Theory: Metroid Other M's story is largely misunderstood

You get an A for effort, but you won't find many converts here. Other M is one of those rare games that has earned the wrath of Nintendo fans and detractors alike.

If it's any consolation, I agree with you. I think Other M is criminally underrated, and its story, despite any creative liberties, is one of the game's highlights. Sakamoto deserves credit for exploring Samus' personality and finally making her a three-dimensional character. Fans, I think, expected Samus to be as cold, emotionless, and faceless as her power suit might imply, but underneath is a woman with emotional baggage, just like anyone else.
