Double Dash didn't have retro cups, it only had 4 like MK64. Super Circuit on GBA featured courses from the SNES original, but did not have official, different "retro cups" either. That didn't start until MKDS, and has been the format since then.
I wouldn't be adverse to having more remade retro tracks as DLC either, so long as they aren't absurdly priced. I would especially like to see whatever MK64 tracks they don't use initially, remade for DLC, as that's my fav. MK game.
