How the hell is 30 racers concerning? That's more than any MK has ever had (not counting the double car crap in Double Dash). Even IF that's all it has, that's more than enough. And frankly, if previous iterations are any indication, what you think is the final roster, isn't always the case, because certain secret characters take up extra spots on the screen.
Either way, I fail to see how this is "bad" or concerning news. This game is shaping up to actually be amazing. So let's quit trying to jinx it otherwise.
