In every sales thread that mentions the Wii U, nearly everyone says "it depends on how well MK & Smash do" While they are both huge series from Nintendo they are clearly not all the Wii U will have this year.

Also, in every thread that pits the Wii U and XBO against each other, people bring up bundles and a price cut this Holiday as advantages for the XBO. How? Do people not expect bundles and /or a price cut from Nintendo?

This thread isn't trying to say the Wii U will start selling huge Wii-like #'s or anything but why do people act as if Nintendo will do nothing other than release them two games?

Both of these questions can be answered by looking at the past 18 months of WiiU. No games have pushed WiiU so far, that's why over 18 months which includes 2 holiday seasons they've barely hit 6 mill. Smash and MK are considered their biggest hits in terms of selling hardware.

XBOX has a target audience, that audience will react to price cuts and bundles. WiiU won't. It's that simple.

Pretty sure if the Wii U mario and luigi bundle, Wind Waker bundle and the $50 price cut didn't happen, Wii U's holiday would have been even more disastrous than it already was. Say you swapped Super Mario 3D World for Yarn Yoshi. The Wii U sales would be undeniably worse, right?

Nintendo's problem is that their audience isn't comfortable buying a system thats more than $250 with a quality bundled game. A good many gamers would like to have Nintendo games, but find the idea of paying anything near as much for a Nintendo system vs another next-gen one ridiculous -- even if SSB, Zelda, MK8, and Mario are all really good.

A lot of families will buy whatever's most affordable -- the Wii U isn't priced into that category, but the 3DS, Xbox 360, and original Wii are.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
