MLB 2K7 launched on PS3 and X360 on the week ending March 3 at this point PS3 had a userbase of 1,028,680 and X360 at 4,902,737. MLB 07 The Show launched the week ending May 19th with a userbase of 1,294,421. Now remember at this time PS3 was in not in a good way with gamers, and cost $499.99.

MLB 2K6 launched on X360 the week ending April 15th to a userbase of 1,267,720.

 

Now I could go on and on over the years, but I am just going to do this year one comparison. Basically, Baseball games sell around 1,500,000 to 2,000,000 every year across all games, and consoles. X360 sold 370,000 Baseball games its first year, PS3 sold 560,000 Baseball games its first year. 

PS4 already sits at ~3,000,000 sales (USA), which is more than both X360 and PS3 combine in their first year upon Baseballs arrival. Not only that, PS4 has much more popularity, better marketing, and and a cheaper price point. Additionally, MLB 14 The Show will be the only Baseball game on current gen systems.

MLB 14 The Show on PS4 will have an LTD much closer to 1,000,000 than 300,000.
