Quote trees are the devil and need to be gone!

It just looks needless for people not involved in the conversation and it's a pain to scroll through. We don't need the same post repeated 6 or 7 times as the tree grows!

Point taken. But if that's the point then you really need to consider that a differnt solution is much better.

If a conversation between two people is of no interest to the rest then the conversation should be embedded sideways next to the originally quoted post. Otherwise you'll have random replies on a forum and it'll be impossible to know who's talking to who if you're not involved - i.e. it'll be even MORE of a pain.

That unfortunately is the truth - a redesign for the forum layout. Otherwise the quote trees need to be kept up to a certainl length.
