It is invalid. First off, as I explained, weekly sales from the first couple of months exhibit different behavior when the system is released outside the holiday shopping season. It's pointless to try to imply anything about the PS4 selling less in its second or third or fourth week than the Wii U did because it was obvious before the PS4 even came out that it would have a huge drop its second week, in keeping with the "hockey stick" curve we see with systems released outside the fourth quarter. Even comparing systems launching around the same time, while a more appropriate comparison, is still largely pointless.
