Great news! Now just two more million and it will push past the Dreamcast and make me breath a small sigh of relief.

Err...the Dreamcast is at 10.6 million. The Dreamcast was released in late November of 1998 in Japan and was discontinued in January of 2001. 26 months, give or take, on the market in Japan and 17 months on the market everywhere else. The Wii U is clearly tracking behind the Dreamcast. (Interestingly, the Saturn sold 6 million in Japan.).

If we are generous and give the Wii U 26 months to catch the Dreamcast, that puts it at January of 2015. Will it reach 10.6 million by then?
