Because they rebuilt the Kinect to work with the Xbox One UI. Microsoft wouldn't like for the fancy gesture control and voice command to go to waste that easily. Also, the new Kinect has implemented new technology, so they need to make a profit on it first. Yeah, Microsoft may have a ton of money, but they can't just drop the device and lose money on it. I don't see them dropping it yet. A year and a half, maybe.
