ImmortalHelixFossil said: This thread is about the Xbox One price cuts, the huge market share lost/gain (compared with last generation) and if you think the Xbox One is performing good/bad. Keep it friendly and mature. We all know Xbox 360 dominated the UK/US last generation. Microsoft really did a great job, compared with the PS2 era. Now, in the new(current) generation, the domination changed.
UK Hardware by Platform
USA Hardware by Platform
Above you see the total hardware sells by platform. Perhaps, I'm about to over-react, hey it's still extremely early in the generation. I'm a bit stunned by the huge deals Microsft is launching in their biggest markets. So far, the Xbox One is performing pretty "depressing". Please, remember that I mean with depressing with the results so far. It can always change in the future. Comparison US
UK
Microsoft sold some pretty impressive amout of hardware. They really made a difference in the last console generation and gave Sony a "wake up" call. Success of the past doesn't give success for the future, never.
I want honest opions. Do you agree or dis-agree? |
I would agree. Especially considering this is the US/UK we are talking about here. I mean come on if the X1 can't beat the PS4 even the 1 month it has its biggest game launch you know something is up.
I'm starting to think that how one ends a generation matters just as much as "How well" they did before (In terms of predicting futrue success). I mean think about it:
-Wii loses nearly all third party support and practically stops releasing big games altogether -> Wii U underperforms
-360 stops releasing great games and falls behind in online services -> X1 underperforms
-PS3 never stops releasing exclusives nor stops improving playstation plus -> People trust Sony and buy a PS4
I mean you can come to the same conclusions by looking at the previous generational transitions as well...
