Yeah you could. It took me a while to learn that you could do the same in Disgaea oddly enough. The naming system for the monsters was fantastic too. It would take an adjective and put it either infront of or behind the monsters name. So you got things like Very Bear, Cool Bear, Mr. Bear, Bear!, etc. It really is an under-rated game. Aside from its nearly impossible to beat post game dungeons it was one of their best games to date. I wish it was more easily found, or remade at the very least. Other than forcing you to lose one of the best characters in the game there were very few design flaws. There were a healthy number of technical issues, but it was their first game.
