People just don't seem to remember the gamecube era the way i seem to remember the gamecube era.

Apples and oranges. The Gamecube era had one console that was so dominant it became pointless to develop for multiple platforms. Not really the case anymore. 

Still, no proof that third parties won't dodge Nintendo platforms just 'cuz (and some conditional evidence that they will)
